Jiayi's Comment on Guardiola fined $25,350 (Wednesday, June 9, 2010 / 11:30 PM)

In sports, whether is it soccer, basketball or volleyball, everyone who is competing will want to win the game. This is because winning a game or match will bring up their rank in the table and this is of great importance to the reputation of their group. Although winning is important, but winning using despicable acts is never accepted in the world of sports.

In the article, it says that coach Pep Guardiola was fined $25,350 for accusing a referee of lying during a match. Two weeks later, the Catalan Tactician
also accused the referee, Carlos Clos Gomez and his assistant Jose Luis Gallego Galdino of 'lying' in their match report. This shows that Pep Guardiola might not be wrong since there are others who thought the same way as him. I personally feel that the referees should never lie in a game, as they act as the judge in a match. They have to undergo training in order to become a certified referee as their presence is important to the game. They are the one who ensures that the game is played fairly. Thus, if they were to cheat in a game, then I feel that having or not having a referee does not makes much difference.
